Seriously...go eff' yourself 2010

What a year it's been! My life has been all over the place in this last year. On the up side: I reconnected with two of my oldest friends in the world (CHAS and Jerry -but of course I won't mention names..they know who they are)...It's been fantastic hanging out with them ...as little as we get to these days. Stupid responsibilities...

In many ways I've learned a lot this year. Had my heart broken artistically, emotionally and financially. Had things just generally not go my way.

I've also learned that money doesn't equal happiness, that life truly is a box o' chocolates, and that blood has nothing to do with family.

Covers

These are two covers I did. The Knights of the Dinner Table is out right now and Black Bat comes out in January.

Paul Hanley colored KODT and I penciled inked and colored Black Bat.

Someone...

Someone should remind the average person that they were born free, strong, uncrushable by fate, society, government, status quo or even hell itself; that they are are a child of the universe, and that goodness is riches, kindness is power, and freedom is splendor. Every person is born with an inner capacity to take them as far as their imagination can dream or envision.

Hack/Slash: Cassie Hack

This is a preview of 1 of 10 sketch cards I just finished over the weekend for Hack/Slash and 5Finity. The best part about working in comics is getting to work on things you like anyway. Grimm Fairy Tales is like that for me and so was this.

World's Deadliest Sharks II

My Zenescope editor (Ralph) emailed and told me that The Discovery Channel "loved what I did" on the Great White Shark section of the 100 page World's Deadliest Sharks graphic novel we've been doing. I've done 10 pages of it. They loved it so much they want me to do the cover. So I worked up four different layouts for it. They choose the "bottom left" version. So I spent 10 hours pencilling it. My editor loved it. We sent it off to TDC for approval. Unfortunately I had mis-remembered which layout was where and I'd penciled the upper left version. Live and learn eh? I spent another 10 hours re-penciling the correct version. Hopefully they'll approve that.

Doctor Who Page 1

Here I am playing about with drawing the new Doctor (Matt Smith). I've never been sastified coloring my own work. I do like the TARDIS though. It is really interesting to draw.
